The BMW dealership in Stuttgart-Vaihingen will be “green-upgraded” in 2017 at a total cost of EUR 1.2 million. Subsequently, it will save 40 percent of its current energy costs, which amount to EUR 600,000. A major contributor to the improvement is the emsyst 4.0 energy management system from Riempp Industrieservice Elektrotechnik GmbH, based in Oberboihingen. Applying the principles of Industry 4.0, the emsyst 4.0 system enables consumers such as heating, lighting or air conditioning to communicate with each other via sensors. The system is implemented without any installation costs.
